Work Schedule:
PRN/Optional Night Shift The 6300 Medical-Surgical Unit at TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital is a 41-bed unit that specializes in the care of orthopedic, neurosurgery, and trauma patients . Our diverse patient population includes individuals recovering from total joint replacements—such as knee, hip, and shoulder—as well as those with hip fractures or requiring spinal surgery. This fast-paced unit offers a supportive environment for role transition students, nursing students, and new graduates to thrive and grow, with a focus on teamwork, communication, and delivering high-quality patient care. Job Requirements:
2 years High School Education Age 17 with work permit Basic Life Support (BLS) Reading and math ability appropriate to the position Experience as an STNA, PCA or ACT strongly preferred
Job Responsibilities:
Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under RN supervision; maintains competency in trained skills, completes assignments on time, and seeks clarification when needed. Maintains a safe, clean environment by reporting hazards, following Infection Control policies, completing safety event reports, and adhering to safety and emergency procedures. Communicates effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and team members; reports patient information and assignment issues promptly; documents observations accurately; collaborates with the healthcare team and uses the chain of command appropriately. Supports unit operations by performing supply, equipment, and environmental tasks; reports shortages or equipment problems and ensures supplies/equipment are ready for the next user. Demonstrates accountability and commitment to self ‑ growth; identifies areas for improvement and supports organizational and unit changes.
