Surgical Services OR Tech

The Surgical Technician is responsible to the Surgical Services Nurse Manager and Operating Room Supervisor. The Surgical Technician is a member of the surgical team in the operating room who works under the direction of the OR RN and with the surgeon, assisting physician, anesthesiologist, delivering direct patient care before, during and after surgery. Must be a team player.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a high school diploma or a GED certificate. Completion of Surgical Technician course or program or graduate of an accredited LPN school with license without restrictions. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support card.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Well groomed and demonstrates appropriate conduct. Ability to function as team member. Ability to lift 75 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Possess the ability to provide care for the patients' age-specific, cultural, physical and psychosocial well-being. Confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters.
