Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic surgical team. Duties Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to aseptic techniques and infection prevention protocols. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools efficiently. Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout surgeries to ensure stability and immediate response to any changes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth surgical workflows across specialties such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, pediatrics, and trauma care. Maintain accurate medical records within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms. Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of medical equipment and surgical instruments following hospital policies. Support emergency procedures in Level I and Level II trauma centers by providing critical assistance during acute care situations. Assist with the treatment of fractures, endoscopic procedures, and other specialized surgeries requiring advanced technical skills. Participate in hospital infection control initiatives by adhering to strict aseptic techniques and sterilization standards. Collect data for quality assurance projects related to patient outcomes and infection prevention efforts. Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology to anticipate surgeon needs effectively. Qualifications Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program is required; active certification must be maintained. Proven experience working in hospital settings with exposure to Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Demonstrated expertise in surgery assistance across multiple specialties including cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, pediatric, and emergency medicine. Strong understanding of medical equipment operation, sterilization processes, and infection control practices. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for documentation purposes. Excellent analysis skills for assessing patient needs and responding swiftly during critical situations. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in high-pressure environments such as operating rooms or ambulatory surgery centers. Familiarity with healthcare safety standards including basic life support (BLS), aseptic technique, treatment of fractures, and trauma care protocols. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining sterile fields and managing surgical supplies. Physiology knowledge relevant to diverse patient populations including pediatrics and critically ill patients.
