Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the successful outcome of surgeries and the overall well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and readily available
  • Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies during procedures
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery, adhering to strict infection control protocols
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members during procedures
  • Collect and document data related to patient care, including vital signs, medical history, and surgical counts
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment
  • Assist with patient positioning and transportation before, during, and after surgery
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for sterilization
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as legal regulations
Skills:
  • Proficiency in using Epic or similar electronic medical record systems
  • Strong data collection and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks as needed
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
