Key Qualifications and Experience:
Successful completion of a CVOR Tech program or equivalent education Current certification as a CVOR Technologist or Surgical Technologist required Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room setting highly desirable Proficient in preparing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment specific to CVOR cases Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection prevention Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team Excellent organizational and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare CVOR suite for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are appropriately set up Assist surgeons and nursing staff during cardiovascular surgical procedures, anticipating needs and providing necessary instruments Maintain strict adherence to aseptic and sterile field protocols Monitor, manage, and inventory CVOR-specific surgical supplies and equipment Safely handle surgical specimens and assist with documentation requirements Support OR turnover by cleaning and restocking as necessary Participate in ongoing CVOR and institutional training to maintain up-to-date skills Collaborate with nurses and physicians to uphold best practices for patient care
