Job Description

UPMC Passavant is hiring a Full Time Weekend Surg Tech to support our OR. Weekend positions enjoy full time benefits while working 24 hours/week and an additional 20% on top of their base pay!!

Shifts:

As a Lead Surgical Technologist, you will support surgeons and the perioperative team by ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of surgical care. This role serves as a clinical resource and mentor while maintaining expertise across multiple surgical specialties. What You'll Do

+ Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.

+ Anticipate surgeon needs and provide expert intraoperative support.

+ Assist with complex procedures in at least three surgical specialties.

+ Coordinate instrumentation, equipment, and specialty supplies.

+ Serve as a lead resource for Surgical Technologists and perioperative staff.

+ Precept and mentor new employees and students.

+ Monitor inventory, support equipment maintenance, and assist with specialty service operations.

+ Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to promote exceptional patient outcomes.

+ Identify process improvement opportunities and support operational excellence. Required Qualifications

+ Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (or military equivalent).

+ Minimum 4 years of current Operating Room experience.

+ Advanced knowledge and experience in at least three surgical specialties. + 24/7 specialty accountability in one or more of the following:

+ Cardiac Surgery (including Heart Transplant)

+ Neurosurgery

+ Thoracic/Lung Transplant

+ Liver or Kidney Transplant

+ Trauma Surgery

+ Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills. Certifications & Clearances

+ CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) or TSC (Tech in Surgery-Certified) required.

+ BLS or CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.

+ Required Pennsylvania clearances:

+ Act 31

+ Act 33

+ Act 34
