Job Description

Summary:
A Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical team who assists the RN with delivery of direct patient care in the operative setting.
Education:
In addition to the skills normally obtained through completion of a High School education, must also be a graduate from an accredited School of Surgical Technology.
Licensure:
Certification required
Experience:
1-2 years minimum experience as a Surgical Technologist Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or
Safety Requirements :
Stands, sits, walks, stoops, and lifts up to 25 pounds. Frequent lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, and transferring of patients and equipment. Exposure to hazardous material and blood and body fluid. Standard work hours are 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., 3 p.m.-8 p.m. On-Call hours are from 3 p.m.-7 a.m. Weekend and Holiday Call hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Meets all safety requirements associated with the Medical Center.
