1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I trauma center operating room, requiring NBSTSA certification and 2 years of experience. Details Level I trauma, academic teaching hospital Main Operating Room with 21 OR suites covering all surgical specialties Common cases include ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), neuro (crani, spine), ENT (flaps), robotics, transplants/procurements, trauma/burns, and GU/GYN 3x12 day shift schedule, 6:30am-7:00pm, including Saturday, Sunday, plus one weekday No on-call requirements Float within scope to meet facility needs and between like units/sister facilities as needed EPIC charting system used Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted) BLS certification required Experience with neuro (spines/crani), ENT (flaps), and robotics (Davinci Xi) cases highly preferred Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency License required if applicable Additional Information Nursing team consists of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists Magnet-designated, nurse-driven department utilizing cutting-edge surgical technology Scrubs provided by the facility First-time travelers will be considered Previous perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the facility for 1 year before returning as a traveler All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for approval based on facility needs Local candidates accepted and considered on a case-by-case basis Radius rule of 60 miles applies Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
