2 Description American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a CVOR position requiring NBSTSA certification and confidence in open heart and vascular surgery cases. Details CVOR unit averaging 6 cases per day Cardiovascular patient population including open heart and vascular surgeries 13-week assignment with weekday shift hours from 06:00-14:30 Weekend call required Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience in a surgical technology role NBSTSA certification required (only certification recognized in South Carolina) BLS certification from the American Heart Association License required if applicable Ability to perform confidently in open heart and vascular surgery cases Additional Information Work under the supervision of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures Ensure availability and preparedness of OR rooms, supplies, and equipment Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, sutures, and equipment for surgical cases Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping according to hospital standards Participate in surgical site and patient verification during time out procedures Perform instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator Maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures to ensure patient and staff safety Assist with specimen preparation and handoff as appropriate Support terminal cleaning and sterilization of instruments and OR rooms Use standard precautions and appropriate PPE when handling hazardous substances Maintain a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, and staff
