Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) is responsible for facilitating the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments; supplies; and equipment. CSTs maintain the sterile field while anticipating and responding to the needs of the surgical team. Functions as a medical assistant within the clinics.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Post High school Vocational/Specialized Training (Surgical Tech School) Minimum Work Experience 1 year Required Licenses/Certifications Certified Surgical Technologist Healthcare Provider BCLS Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities Thorough knowledge of surgical processes Knowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures Knowledge of anatomy and physiology Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families Skill in performing surgical technician and medical assistant tasks appropriately Skill; tact; and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care and surgical procedures Ability to project a pleasant and professional image Ability to plan; prioritize; and complete delegated tasks Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
