2 Description American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a CVOR Heart Team position requiring open-heart surgery scrub experience and call rotation availability. Details Hospital CVOR department supporting a dedicated heart team Team includes CVOR surgeons, RNs, CSTs, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and surgical assistants 1:1 patient care ratio in the operating room Uses cardiovascular surgical instrumentation, heart-lung bypass equipment, endoscopic vein harvesting equipment, cell saver, and surgical microscopes Performs procedures including CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, aortic aneurysm repairs, vascular surgery, and open heart surgery Regular schedule Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM Some Thursday call coverage required with monthly call rotation of approximately 10-12 days Weekend call rotated among team members 13-week assignment Requirements Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required State license required if applicable Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR/open-heart surgery scrub experience Experience with cardiac and vascular surgical procedures required Must be able to work independently in a high-acuity CVOR setting Must respond to call-back within established timeframe No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted) One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri) Additional Information Support cardiac and vascular surgical procedures including open-heart cases as part of a dedicated heart team Maintain competencies for cardiovascular surgical procedures Participate in scheduled call rotation, including some Thursday and weekend coverage Scrubs are provided by the hospital Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
