Job Description

PSV is seeking a full-time OR Surgical Tech to work in their Ambulatory Surgery Center. PSV Surgical Technologists provide excellent care through an understanding of patient, family, and working as an integral part the perioperative team. This position works day shift 20 hours a week, days varies, 7:00am - 3:30pm, and is located in Fairfax, VA. PSV Surgical Technologists are expected to actively promote a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and shared accountability within the ASC. This role works closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, SPD, and leadership to support efficient patient flow, safe care delivery, and optimal surgical outcomes. Come join our team! Job Description The OR Surgical Tech's duties will include, but are not limited to: Assist and support surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. Demonstrates flexibility and a team'first mindset by assisting with room turnovers, case flow optimization, and task redistribution during high'volume or unexpected situations. Support in pre-operative assessments of cases, preparation of surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring all supplies needed per surgical preference cards are available and readily accessible to the physician during the procedure. Test instruments pre-operatively for proper functionality and condition. Anticipate the surgeon's needs to ensure optimal surgical outcomes. Prepare and pull case carts for upcoming procedures, utilizing preference cards for surgeons. Maintain an organized and well-stocked sterile supply room, following inventory par levels closely and checking expiration dates frequently. Help to maintain a safe environment for the patient and intraoperative team members, maintaining a sterile field and demonstrating sharps safety practices. Provides support for sterile processing, inventory and materials management, and maintains communication with team members to maintain a high level of care for surgical patients. Participates in continuous quality assurance and process improvement for the ASC. Handles instrumentation and equipment with caution and use preventative measures to limit breakage. Participates in cross'training to support Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and Anesthesia Technician functions, including instrument reprocessing workflows, supply management, anesthesia equipment setup, and room readiness, as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned to support the surgical team and contribute to overall operational excellence. Minimum Qualifications Required One (1) year or more independent OR scrubbing experience in hospital or ASC setting Certified Surgical Technician Current BLS CPR certification All employees must pass employment, TB, drug and physical exam Desired Qualifications Experience with EMR SPD experience Supplies or materials management experience Physical Demands of Position The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
