Job Description

Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Clinical Technician 2 to join our team in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit. This role will be full-time Day Shift, 7:00AM•7:30PM. Days vary each 6-week schedule period. Candidates Must be able to work any weekday when scheduled, rotating weekends. Job Responsibilities:
Provides direct care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized, with predictable outcomes, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse Effectively communicates with health team members, patients and families; and works cooperatively with others. Assists unit leadership with overseeing other unit Clinical Technician education records. Has respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Maintains competencies and seeks opportunities to develop professionally. Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals. Assumes responsibility for self-development in life-long learning and seeks opportunities to further increase practice knowledge. Performs phlebotomy, starting and removing IV's, and other clinical skills, which will be included in initial 6-weeks of training. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Shift:
days (7am•7:30pm)
Schedule:
Three 12 hour shifts per week•must be able to work all weekdays when scheduled, Monday•Friday as needed (with every other weekend rotation)
Training:
Candidate must be able to attend a paid six-week Monday-Friday training course, including virtual training days, classroom training days, and hospital shifts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
1-year acute care experience as a Clinical Tech or clinical rotation with an accredited nursing program and/or 2 years of nursing school
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Certification:
BLS within 90 days of hire.
Special Skills:
Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills required. Preferred Qualifications Clinical Technician experience in a similar unit/facility preferred.
