Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our Operating Room team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside talented surgeons and perioperative professionals in a collaborative, patient-focused environment. Day and afternoon shifts are available , offering flexibility while supporting a variety of surgical specialties. What You'll Do Prepare and organize sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures. Function as the scrub technologist during operative and invasive procedures. Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team. Perform surgical counts with the circulating RN according to policy. Assist with sterile draping and provide instruments using aseptic technique. Collect, label, and manage surgical specimens accurately. Report implanted devices, drains, catheters, and surgical packing to the circulating nurse. Perform surgical skin preparation, clipping, and urinary catheter insertion as appropriate. Assist during emergency situations, including CPR. Clean and prepare operating rooms and instruments before and after procedures. Participate in orientation and training of new staff and students. Participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled. QualificationsRequired Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA (required in Virginia) or successor organization recognized by the Virginia Board of Medicine. Current BLS Certification prior to independent patient care. Associate Degree, Vocational Certificate, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology. Preferred Minimum 1 year of Operating Room or perioperative experience . Military surgical technology experience welcomed. Why Join Bon Secours?
