Key Responsibilities:

Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to aseptic protocols Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with precision Monitor vital signs and patient physiology throughout surgeries to ensure stability and safety Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention protocols and hospital policies for sterile technique and equipment sterilization Support the handling of complex surgeries including trauma care, orthopedic operations, cardiovascular interventions, neurosurgery, endoscopy, and pediatric procedures Assist with treatment of fractures, trauma management, and acute care situations in high-pressure environments such as Level I and Level II trauma centers Operate medical equipment safely and efficiently while troubleshooting technical issues as needed Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in both hospital and ambulatory surgery center settings Participate in ongoing training to stay current with advances in surgical technology and healthcare infection control practices Requirements Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program; current certification required Proven experience working in hospital environments with exposure to Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred Extensive knowledge of surgical instruments, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology Demonstrated ability to perform suturing, treatment of fractures, and assist in orthopedic surgeries Experience with cardiovascular surgery assistance, neurosurgery support, pediatrics, and endoscopy procedures highly desirable Proficiency in medical equipment operation and sterilization techniques aligned with infection control standards Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for documentation purposes Strong analysis skills for monitoring vital signs and physiological data during surgeries Excellent patient care skills combined with a commitment to safety and aseptic technique compliance Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments like emergency medicine units or ICU settings Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention strategies applicable across diverse surgical disciplines Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are advantageous If you are committed to delivering exceptional surgical support within a dynamic healthcare environment and possess the necessary expertise outlined above, we encourage you to apply.
