Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Surgical Technologist, a vital role dedicated to supporting surgical teams and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care. In this energetic position, you will assist in the preparation and management of surgical instruments, maintain sterile environments, and facilitate smooth surgical procedures. Your expertise will directly contribute to successful surgeries and positive patient outcomes. Duties Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging surgical tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly before procedures begin Assist surgeons and nurses during surgeries by passing instruments, holding retractors, and managing surgical supplies efficiently Maintain strict adherence to health regulation policies and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and sterile environments Manage electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation accurately, including patient information, procedure details, and post-operative notes Monitor patient vital signs during surgery, provide first aid or emergency care if needed, and support acute care requirements Support disease prevention initiatives by following proper sanitation procedures and handling confidential information with care in compliance with HIPAA regulations Participate in triage assessments to prioritize patient needs during emergencies or urgent procedures while demonstrating physiology knowledge and anatomy expertise Education Requirement Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Skills Proficiency with medical software systems such as EMR/EHR for documentation and record management Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nursing principles to support surgical teams effectively Certified in basic life support (BLS), CPR, and first aid; experienced in emergency care scenarios requiring quick decision-making Knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance for handling confidential patient information Experience with chronic disease management, acute care procedures, and disease prevention strategies within a hospital or clinical setting Demonstrated leadership skills in nursing or surgical teams; capable of guiding less experienced staff during complex procedures Ability to handle medical records securely while maintaining accuracy in medical documentation across electronic health record systems Embark on a rewarding career where your technical expertise and compassionate care make a real difference!
