Job Description
Job Summary This position observes, recognizes, and documents all changes in the cardiac rhythm of the patient population and deletes artifacts to provide accurate history of any arrhythmic events. Alerts nursing staff concerning the development of any significant warning, and/or lethal arrhythmias in their assigned patients. Preforms other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Class or complete next available class upon hire. BLS certification or must obtain during Orientation and prior to reporting to department. Other advanced life support may be required by unit/department specialty according to patient care policies must be obtained within one year of hire. Preferred Job Requirements Knowledge and understanding of monitoring equipment including ST segment monitoring and troubleshooting monitor programs. 1-2 years of experience with cardiac monitoring.
