Essentia Health is seeking a Monitoring Tech to support patient-centered care through continuous observation of vital signs and telemetry. In this on-site role, you will monitor cardiac rhythms and other physiological data, promptly recognize abnormal trends, and communicate critical changes to nurses and providers. You will verify and troubleshoot equipment, accurately document events in the EMR, and follow safety and infection-control protocols. Responsibilities Continuously monitor patient vital signs and telemetry systems in a centralized monitoring unit Promptly recognize and report abnormal rhythms or changes in patient status to nursing and provider teams Verify, calibrate, and troubleshoot monitoring equipment to ensure accurate, uninterrupted data Document findings, alarms, and interventions in the electronic medical record with high accuracy Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and support staff to support safe, coordinated patient care Follow established protocols, safety procedures, and infection-prevention standards Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge monitoring setups as directed Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Telemetry monitoring EKG interpretation Cardiac rhythm recognition Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Alarm management and triage Medical terminology Basic life support (BLS) Equipment troubleshooting Infection control practices Written and verbal communication
