Submit your application for the opportunity below: Monitor Tech Job Summary and Qualifications This Job Description provides criteria for evaluation of the Telemetry Technician working in a staff position. The Telemetry Technician assigned to the Surgical Intermediate Unit evaluates patients on telemetry, including adults and geriatrics. What you will do in this role: Performs duties appropriate to the position and in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, and any other duties, as assigned. Monitors all equipment for the proper functioning at the start of shifts and notifies Bio-Medical and Director/Nurse Manager of any problems. It is accountable for all telemetry units at start and end of shift. Put all telemetry notes with the patient's chart immediately, when telemetry discontinued. Documents all telemetry admissions on 24-hour Telemetry Worksheet in logbook. Documents a six-second strip swiftly and when changes in rate/rhythm occur and make sure all strips are properly interpreted. Notifies Charge Nurse of all rate/rhythm changes. Responsible for maintaining and improving own job knowledge and skills. Responsible for maintaining a friendly customer atmosphere. Responsible for maintaining monitors in working conditions while on or off patient and including changing batteries and leads. Responsible for setting alarms at appropriate settings and sufficiently audible levels. Responsible for alerting nurse of 48 hr renewal order due. Responsible for notifying AOS/Director when all monitors are in use and the need for intervention to free up monitors as part of Through Put Plan.
