GED Full Job Description Overview:
Performs ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. Performs vascular procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound techniques for imaging diagnosis. Responsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound procedures. Ensures that all procedures have been appropriately ordered with satisfactory patient identification obtained prior to conducting procedure. Performs all procedures according to departmental protocol. Responsible for orientation and training of new staff and students. Provides guidance, direction, and leadership to the Ultrasound staff and effectively communicates departmentally and interdepartmentally.
Qualifications:
Education:
A high school diploma or GED; Graduate of an Accredited School of Ultrasound Technology or ARRT Ultrasound Registration preferred
Experience:
1 year experience in performing
VASCULAR
ultrasound procedures preferred or equivalent experience as determined by the Imaging Manager. Until licensure has been obtained, registry eligible technologists must work with licensed staff on every shift.
Licenses/Certificates:
ARDMS Registration required within 6 months of hire. RVT and/or RVS registry completed within one (1) year of hire. BCLS required
