Position Summary Lucent Medical Imaging is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our outpatient imaging center in Glendale. The Ultrasound Technologist performs routine and advanced diagnostic ultrasound examinations while maintaining the highest standards of image quality, patient safety, and compassionate care. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient environment. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecologic, small-parts, breast, and other established protocols. Perform vascular ultrasound examinations when appropriately credentialed and assigned. Verify patient identity, review imaging orders, and obtain relevant medical history. Prepare and position patients accurately while explaining procedures and helping reduce anxiety. Select the appropriate transducer and optimize equipment settings to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Identify and document relevant anatomy, pathology, measurements, and sonographic findings for radiologist review. Evaluate images for technical quality, accuracy, and completeness before concluding examinations. Recognize urgent or unexpected findings and follow established escalation procedures. Process, archive, and transmit images through
RIS/PACS
systems. Perform required equipment quality-assurance checks and promptly report malfunctions or safety concerns. Support scheduling, examination preparation, and efficient patient flow. Maintain accurate patient records and examination documentation. Follow HIPAA, infection-control, patient-safety, and accreditation requirements. Provide compassionate and culturally sensitive patient care. Collaborate effectively with radiologists, referring providers, and other members of the imaging team. Required Qualifications Active registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography ( ARDMS ) in one or more applicable specialties. Minimum of one year of clinical ultrasound experience in a hospital or outpatient setting. Current Basic Life Support certification. Knowledge of ultrasound anatomy, physiology, pathology, imaging protocols, and patient safety. Experience operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment. Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with radiologists and other team members. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and accurate clinical documentation. Preferred Qualifications Outpatient imaging-center experience. ARDMS credentials in Abdomen ( AB ) and Obstetrics and Gynecology ( OB/GYN ). Registered Vascular Technologist ( RVT ) credential. Registered Diagnostic Breast Sonographer ( RDMS-BR ) credential. Experience performing breast, vascular, obstetric, and small-parts ultrasound examinations. Experience with RIS/PACS and electronic medical record systems. Compensation Hourly Pay Range:
