2 Description American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Breast Sonography for a Breast Care Center, requiring ARDMS Breast Specialty certification and BLS. Details Work in a Breast Care Center performing exclusively breast ultrasound examinations Monday-Friday day shift schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Uses EPIC for charting and documentation Perform exams per department protocol, reviewing images for quality, clarity, and accuracy Assist and instruct students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment Requirements 1-2 years of experience in breast ultrasound preferred Active ARDMS Breast Specialty (RDMS BR) certification required Registered with ARDMS with successful completion of one registry beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, or vascular) Current BLS certification (AHA) required and must not expire prior to start High School Diploma or GED required License required if applicable Ability to lift, bend, carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate crowded, busy environments Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision Strong verbal communication skills, especially during emergency situations Proficiency with computers and typing for documentation purposes Additional Information Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction to identify abnormalities and support patient diagnosis Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation Complete studies within acceptable time limits while maintaining quality patient care Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address patient concerns Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, and quality control programs Report equipment failures according to established protocols Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment Respond appropriately to emergency situations Returning employees must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a new travel assignment
