Ultrasound Technician / Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Ultrasound Technician / Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform high-quality general diagnostic ultrasound examinations. The ideal candidate will have broad experience across multiple ultrasound studies and be comfortable working independently while maintaining excellent patient care and image quality. This position does not include obstetric or prostate ultrasound examinations. Experience performing a wide range of other ultrasound studies is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. Obtain high-quality images and measurements necessary for accurate physician interpretation. Perform a variety of general ultrasound studies, which may include: Abdominal ultrasound Renal/bladder ultrasound Pelvic ultrasound (non-obstetric) Thyroid ultrasound Scrotal/testicular ultrasound Breast ultrasound, if applicable Soft tissue ultrasound Venous Doppler/DVT studies Arterial and vascular ultrasound studies, as applicable Carotid ultrasound Other general diagnostic ultrasound examinations within the technician's training and scope of practice Review patient history and physician orders prior to each examination. Explain procedures to patients and provide a professional, compassionate, and comfortable experience. Properly position patients and select appropriate equipment settings to obtain optimal diagnostic images. Recognize normal and abnormal anatomy and obtain additional images when clinically appropriate. Accurately document examinations and maintain complete patient records. Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and ready for use. Follow infection-control, patient-safety, privacy, and HIPAA requirements. Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and other members of the healthcare team. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program preferred. ARDMS certification preferred or eligibility to obtain certification. Current BLS/CPR certification preferred. Prior clinical experience performing general diagnostic ultrasound examinations strongly preferred. Broad experience across multiple ultrasound modalities and examination types is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and ultrasound principles. Ability to independently obtain complete, diagnostic-quality studies. Excellent patient-care and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation. Ability to work efficiently in a clinical environment while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism. Preferred Experience Candidates with experience performing a comprehensive range of general and vascular ultrasound examinations are strongly preferred. Experience with obstetric or prostate ultrasound is not required , as these examinations will not be performed in this position. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced sonographer who is confident performing a broad range of ultrasound studies, produces consistently high-quality diagnostic images, works well independently, and provides patients with professional and compassionate care.

Pay:

$33.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
