Job Description

Join Wellstar Family Medicine as Sonographer in Acworth, GA. In this role, you'll provide safe, accurate exams while supporting the well-being of patients. You'll keep patients informed, deliver diagnostic-quality studies, and help create a calm, professional experience for every patient. Schedule and Incentives PRN position for Fridays, 6:30am

  • Registered Medical Sonographer (upon hire) or ARRT-S
  • ARRT Sonography (upon hire) Education High School Diploma or GED Successful completion of a Sonography Training Program Preferred Experience 1 year clinical practice Experience in high risk OBGYN exams Core Responsibilities Perform sonography exams according to according to clinician order and protocol, confirming patient identity with two unique identifiers.
Gather relevant clinical history, screen for contraindications or patient-specific concerns, explain the exam using AIDET, and address or escalate patient/family questions as appropriate. Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort while positioning patients safely and assisting with transfers as needed. Review images for quality and completeness, maintaining a strong first-time acceptance rate before releasing patients. Use sound clinical judgment, clarify unclear orders (including RBAC for verbal orders), and assist in emergencies or across imaging areas when needed. Ensure all images are accurately labeled, oriented, and documented in PACS/RIS, complete daily charge capture for procedures. Complete ultrasound QC activities, probe disinfection logs, and equipment readiness checks. Provide clear pre
