Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Allied Echo Technologist to join our dynamic cardiovascular imaging team. This vital role involves performing advanced diagnostic procedures, including echocardiography, vascular ultrasound imaging, and interventional radiology support, to assist in the comprehensive assessment of cardiac and vascular health. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of cardiac physiology, medical terminology, and the operation of specialized medical equipment. The Allied Echo Technologist will work collaboratively with cardiologists, radiologists, and emergency medicine teams to deliver precise diagnostic evaluations and support critical interventions. Duties Perform echocardiography procedures, including transthoracic and transesophageal imaging, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images for accurate cardiac assessment. Conduct vascular ultrasound imaging to evaluate blood flow, vessel structure, and identify vascular abnormalities. Assist in cardiac catheterization procedures within the cath lab by preparing equipment, monitoring vital signs, and providing real-time imaging support. Support interventional radiology procedures by operating ultrasound and fluoroscopy equipment to guide minimally invasive treatments. Analyze cardiac rhythms and perform cardiac stress tests to assess heart function under various conditions. Maintain detailed documentation of diagnostic findings using Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for efficient record keeping. Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during all procedures to ensure patient safety. Monitor patient vital signs continuously during procedures and provide immediate assistance in emergency situations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret diagnostic results and contribute to comprehensive patient care plans. Stay current with advancements in cardiovascular technology, sonography techniques, and procedural standards through ongoing education. Experience Proven experience working in a cath lab environment with familiarity in cardiac catheterization procedures. Demonstrated expertise in echocardiography, including transthoracic and transesophageal modalities. Prior experience supporting interventional cardiology and radiology procedures is highly desirable. Knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to cardiac diagnostics. Experience operating medical equipment such as ultrasound machines, fluoroscopy units, and PACS software. Background working within Level I or Level II trauma centers or emergency medicine settings is advantageous. Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring, aseptic techniques, and emergency response protocols in high-pressure environments. Certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist or equivalent credential is preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
