Job Description

Echocardiographer Job Code:
26033 Position Summary Performs quality echocardiograms in accordance with established departmental procedures and protocols. Provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation by completing a thorough preliminary report on a PACS. Responsibilities
  • Responsible to learn new technology and types of echo exams/procedures as required
  • Shares in call rotation for weeknights, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to comply within 30-minute response time
  • Maintains a high commitment to quality and patient safety, and able to assist in transfer
  • Consults with cardiologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree (AA), or equivalent, from a college or technical school in Echocardiography OR experience and training necessary for designation of "Registry Eligible" in Echocardiography required
  • RDCS or RCS Registration required within 6 months of hire
  • BLS required Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 35lbs
  • Must be able to maintain a sitting position
  • Must be able to maintain a standing position
  • Must be able to stoop or crouch
  • Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical job
