Job Description
We are seeking an Ultrasound Tech to join our team at the Women's Health Clinic in the City of Chicago, as well as in the City of Des Plaines. This role is critical in ensuring efficient patient reception, administrative support, and clinical assistance. The Ultrasound Tech will act as a liaison between patients and providers contributing to a seamless healthcare experience.
Role:
A certified ultrasound technician in an abortion clinic performs limited obstetric ultrasounds under medical supervision, supports patient care, and reinforces the clinic's mission and values.Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Associate's degree or equivalent in diagnostic medical sonography; RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) preferred, ideally with OB/GYN credentialsCertification:
Current certification in diagnostic medical sonography; must maintain competency to perform limited obstetric ultrasoundsValues & Beliefs:
Agrees with the clinic's Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Code of Christian Conduct; believes in the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death; exhibits strong interpersonal, spiritual, and administrative skillsPhysical & Technical Skills:
Able to stand for long periods, has good eyesight or corrected vision, steady hands, and proficiency with current ultrasound technologyLicensure:
Professional licensure/credentials maintained; ongoing professional development in obstetrical, gynecological, and women's health care Reporting & Supervision Reports to the Nurse Manager for training and the CEO for operations Core Responsibilities Perform limited OB ultrasound under the direction of the Medical Director Reinforce the humanity of the unborn child to patients during procedures Maintain accurate patient records and ensure accurate implementation of physician orders Follow up with patients as needed and provide health education (physical, emotional, and spiritual) Operate ultrasound equipment, maintain supplies, and follow infection control protocols Share the clinic's mission and values with patients, including spiritual support when appropriate Staff & Professional Development Attend in-service meetings, medical team conferences, and professional training Participate in annual skills refresher and competency assessments Public Relations & Outreach Represent the clinic in the community as delegated by the CEO Attend relevant medical conferences for professional growthSkills & Competencies Technical:
Proficiency in ultrasound equipment, anatomy, and OB/GYN imagingInterpersonal:
Strong bedside manner, empathy, and communication skillsAdministrative:
Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentExperience Required:
Must have a bachelor's degree in medical Sonography, or Radiologic Technology Must have an ARRT Certification Must be CPR certified Hours of operations:- Part time
- average amount of hours up to 34.5 hours
- Weekends will be required
Responsibilities:
Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.- Including obstetric, gynecological, abdominal, vascular, and cardiac scans.
