Full Job Description Summary Job Description:

Sign-On Bonus Job Summary:
Patient population includes any patient admitted to Baptist Hospital, age 5 years to geriatrics. Assesses the vascular system according to the exam ordered. Performs the vascular exams in a professional manner demonstrating technical accuracy and a thorough understanding of the equipment. Records the results of the exam for interpretation by the Medical Director. Assists with the collection and analysis of data for statistical purposes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job: Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the cerebrovascular, peripheral vascular and abdominal vascular systems. Records an accurate medical history, indication for exam, and a physical evaluation according to the exam ordered. Performs and documents routine calibrations, inspections, and maintenance of all equipment. Demonstrates proficiency while performing vascular procedures Annual completion of competency validation, safety training, and OSHA requirements. Performs Quality Improvement duties in accordance to IAC, JCAHO, hospital and department guidelines.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
Graduate of an allied health field program. Associate Degree program preferred. Must be registered or be an eligible candidate for registry in Vascular Ultrasound through the following: Registry through either the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) within 3 months of hire. Applicants who are registered in another ultrasound registry, such as, RDMS-AB, RDMS, RDCS, or RCS must obtain their RVT or RVS within 9 months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 2 weeks of hire, Graduates of an accredited vascular ultrasound program must be registered within 3 months of hire. CPR certification required.
