Full-Time | Permanent | Direct Hire | On-Site Position Summary A respected healthcare provider is seeking a skilled, highly autonomous Cardiac Echo Ultrasound Technologist to join its diagnostic imaging team in the Greater New Orleans area. Operating in a practice setting designed for independent, self-directed clinical professionals under indirect management, the Cardiac Echo Ultrasound Technologist utilizes advanced ultrasonic equipment to capture accurate anatomical, pathological, and functional cardiac data. In this multi-site position, you will perform high-quality diagnostic echo procedures, assist physicians with guided interventions, generate preliminary reports, and ensure an exceptional patient experience across three local centers. Key Responsibilities Rotate regularly across three local area clinics to support regional patient volume, with willingness to travel to alternate regional market locations as needed (approximately 1x per month or every other month). Perform complex diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures applying prescribed Doppler, transthoracic, and specialized sonographic techniques across assigned center locations. Thrive in an indirect management environment, taking full ownership of patient scheduling flow, clinical quality, and daily imaging operations without the need for direct day-to-day oversight. Select appropriate transducers and calibrate equipment controls according to target anatomy, depth of field, and specific examination protocols. Prepare detailed preliminary ultrasound reports, measurements, and diagnostic impressions for reviewing physicians in a timely manner. Assist physicians during ultrasound-guided biopsies, invasive cardiac procedures, and contrast material administration as needed. Explain procedures clearly to patients, address clinical concerns, and accommodate age-specific needs to ensure a safe, comfortable diagnostic experience. Enter test parameters and patient clinical data accurately into
EMR/PACS
systems; maintain strict HIPAA compliance and infection control/PPE standards.
Qualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited program for Cardiac Ultrasound Sonographers (Bachelor's degree is a plus) .
Professional Credentials:
Active Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential required, OR registry-eligible with board certification obtained within one (1) year of eligibility. Active state licensure or permit to practice medical imaging in accordance with state regulations. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Clinical Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience working as an Imaging Technologist / Cardiac Ultrasound Sonographer.
Management Style Fit:
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and decisively under indirect management, exhibiting strong critical thinking, clinical autonomy, and self-motivation.
Physical & Interpersonal Capabilities:
Excellent patient communication skills; ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, reaching, and moving equipment or assisting patients up to 50 lbs.
