1 Description American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist - General for a Radiology department, requiring 2+ years of experience and OB ultrasound expertise. Details Radiology department in a teaching hospital setting 8 or 12-hour day shifts, either 8:00 AM-4:30 PM or 8:00 AM-8:30 PM 36 hours per week guaranteed Weekend and holiday coverage may be required Call is required Requirements Minimum 2 years of current Ultrasound Technologist experience required OB ultrasound experience required Vascular ultrasound experience preferred Active ARDMS certification required RDCS certification required RVT through ARDMS or RVS through CCI preferred Current AHA BLS certification required Meditech Expanse experience preferred License required if applicable Must be proficient in abdominal, pelvic, and obstetrical ultrasound studies Must be proficient in DVT studies of arms and legs and obtaining images using portable equipment Must be familiar with sterile technique and setup of sterile trays Ability to function independently and proficiently in a high stress, work-intensive environment Ability to stand/walk up to 6 hours per 8-hour shift Ability to lift up to 100 lbs intermittently and over 100 lbs with assistance or mechanical aid as needed Must possess adequate sight/hearing senses to meet job requirements Must be able to speak, read, and understand English Skills checklist for Ultrasound Tech, current within 1 year, required for consideration One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years required for consideration Additional Information Performs a wide variety of technical ultrasound procedures requiring independent judgment and ingenuity May be assigned independent responsibilities by Department Director or Operations Manager May supervise or instruct department personnel as determined by Department Director Demonstrates proper operation of PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems, including troubleshooting PACS applications Practices infection control and body substance isolation in compliance with hospital and OSHA standards Maintains patient confidentiality at all times Attends annual mandatory education including bloodborne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation Maintains department competencies as required Traveler must have their own vehicle for this assignment No more than 5 days of RTO accepted during the assignment Must work two holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and following weekend; Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and following weekend; New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and following weekend Includes 8 hours of non-billable orientation
