Mercy is seeking an Advanced Sonographer to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you'll perform complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures, support physicians in accurate diagnosis, and ensure high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Perform complex and advanced diagnostic ultrasound examinations across multiple specialties, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, small-parts, and limited interventional procedures. Optimize and operate sophisticated sonography equipment, ensuring high-quality imaging and adherence to Mercy and industry standards. Review clinical histories, correlate imaging findings with patient presentation, and provide detailed, accurate technical impressions to interpreting physicians. Assist radiologists, cardiologists, and other providers during ultrasound-guided procedures, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and precision. Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation within PACS and the electronic medical record, following departmental protocols and regulatory requirements. Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to sonography staff and students, providing coaching on best practices, image quality, and workflow efficiency. Participate in quality assurance initiatives, including protocol review, image audits, and process improvements to enhance patient care and diagnostic accuracy. Educate patients and families about ultrasound procedures, addressing questions, reducing anxiety, and promoting an environment of compassion and respect. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary care teams to prioritize cases, manage exam schedules, and support timely clinical decision-making. Adhere to safety, infection-prevention, and privacy standards, ensuring compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.
