Mercy is seeking a skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality vascular ultrasound examinations, support accurate diagnoses, and collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. You'll ensure patient comfort and safety while maintaining detailed, accurate documentation and adhering to regulatory standards. Responsibilities Perform high-quality vascular ultrasound examinations including arterial, venous, carotid, and abdominal vascular studies according to Mercy protocols and industry standards. Prepare, position, and educate patients to ensure comfort and understanding throughout vascular diagnostic procedures. Optimize ultrasound equipment settings, select appropriate transducers, and troubleshoot basic technical issues to ensure accurate imaging and efficient workflow. Identify, document, and preliminarily recognize normal and abnormal vascular findings such as DVT, stenosis, occlusions, aneurysms, and insufficiency. Accurately record measurements, calculations, and representative images, and ensure timely, complete documentation in PACS and the electronic medical record. Collaborate closely with vascular surgeons, radiologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to support timely diagnoses and coordinated treatment plans. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and patient privacy standards, maintaining a clean, organized, and patient-centered exam environment. Participate in quality assurance activities, contribute to protocol improvements, and support the training and mentoring of new staff or students when needed.
