JOB SUMMARY
The Intern- Radiology at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for assisting patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Staff Technician/Sonographer.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs high quality/cost-effective diagnostic procedures under the supervision of a Registered Staff Tech or Registered Sonographer. Assists Physicians and medical staff during procedures as requested/required. Provides excellent customer service in an accurate and efficient manner. Communicates effectively with patients, family members, Physicians, other medical staff, and NMMC staff members. Attends required in-services, annual review, and educational programs. Knowledgeable of procedures, positions, supplies, and equipment used in Radiological examinations. Stays abreast of changes in Radiology. Adheres toNMHS/NMMC
Policies/Procedures/Guidelines. Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues. All other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level- Education Details (
- Required/Preferred) High School Diploma or GED Equivalentor equivalent; Required And Other (Experience)Successful completion of 3 semesters of didactic and clinical competency requirements from an accredited Radiologic Technology program; Required Or Other (Experience)Successful completion of 6 months of training from an accredited ultrasound program.
- Time Frame (
- Required/ Preferred) Registered or registry eligible by the American Radiologic Technologists within 6 months of accepting position; required (ARRT) Required
- And Licensed or license eligible by the State of Mississippi within 6 months of accepting position; required (MRT) Required
- And American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification; Required American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification within 2 years of accepting sonography position at NMHS
- Required for sonography positions Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required/Preferred
- Proficiency Good written and verbal communication; requiredRequiredN/A Interaction with a patient population of all ages ranging from neonates to geriatrics; requiredRequiredN/A Serves patient population categories of infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
