Job Description

Performs high quality/cost effective diagnostic procedures

Assists Physicians and medical staff during procedures as requested/required

Provides excellent customer service in an accurate and efficient manner

Communicate effectively with patients, family members, Physicians, medical staff, and NMMC staff members

Attends required in-services, annual review and educational programs

Knowledgeable of procedures, positions, supplies, and equipment used in Radiological examinations

Stay abreast of changes in Radiology

Adheres to

NMHS/NMMC

Policies/Procedures/Guidelines

Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues

Organize work flow to prevent delays and control cost through appropriate use of supplies.

All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of approved school of Ultrasound Technology.
  • Ability to work independently to assure quality.
  • Registered by ARDMS or AIUM.
  • Registered by RVT as required for IAC accreditation
  • Registered by the American Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
  • Licensed by the State of Mississippi (MRT) preferred
  • American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification; required
  • Good written and verbal communication; required
  • Serves patient population categories of neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Registered Vascular Technologist, and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
