Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Performs Cardiac and Vascular Procedures:

Coordinates and performs cardiac and vascular diagnostic procedures in accordance with department policies, Medical Director standards, and regulatory requirements, utilizing digital imaging and established competency guidelines.

Ensures Accurate Patient Care and Documentation:

Obtains accurate patient histories, appropriate indications, critical measurements, and required consents while providing age-appropriate care, patient education, comfort, and clear explanations before procedures.

Manages Diagnostic Imaging and Results:

Acquires, edits, and assigns digital images for physician interpretation, ensuring studies and related documentation are completed within required timeframes and accurately recorded in Cerner and medical records.

Communicates Critical Findings and Supports Patient Outcomes:

Reports critical laboratory or diagnostic findings to the appropriate ordering department, follows read-back and documentation requirements, and participates in follow-up rounding to support positive patient outcomes.

Supports Department Operations and Technology:

Maintains accurate patient logs and billing, monitors inventory, and collaborates with IT, Bio-Med, Medical Records, and other departments to resolve equipment, system, workflow, and documentation issues while maintaining efficient department operations.

Salary:

Pay starts at $35.06 an hour and may increase based on work history/experience.

Job Requirements:

Successful completion of an accredited vascular or echocardiogram technical program (2 year program) required. 2 years of clinical experience in field of vascular or echo and board registered preferred. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered or board eligible required. Registered Vascular Tech (RVT) or Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS required within one year of employment required. Certification or registry in an accredited society within one year of employment to continue employment required. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients and family members as well as hospital personnel and coworkers. Ability to effectively organize work in order to perform several tasks at once.
