Job Description
Cottage Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to join our Radiology team. This position offers scheduling flexibility while providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through high-quality diagnostic imaging and compassionate patient care in a collaborative hospital environment. Position Summary The Ultrasound Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the supervision of a Radiologist, producing high-quality images to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to care. Essential Responsibilities Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations following physician orders and departmental protocols. Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination. Obtain high-quality diagnostic images with accurate measurements and annotations for radiologist interpretation. Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures as appropriate. Maintain and disinfect ultrasound equipment according to hospital policies and infection prevention standards. Accurately document examinations within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to provide efficient, coordinated patient care. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all hospital, regulatory, and safety standards. Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional competency. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Current ARDMS certification (or registry eligible, if applicable). Current BLS certification required. Previous hospital ultrasound experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Why Cottage Hospital?
