Responsibilities Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, including prenatal, gynecological, breast, abdominal, vascular, and echocardiography scans. Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring their comfort throughout the process. Apply aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during invasive or sensitive procedures. Analyze real-time images for quality and clarity; adjust technical settings as needed to obtain optimal results. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals by providing accurate images and preliminary findings for diagnosis. Maintain detailed patient records within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. Adhere to safety protocols and medical imaging standards while operating equipment such as Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for image storage and retrieval. Requirements Proven experience in medical imaging with proficiency in sonography techniques across multiple specialties including women's health diagnostics, gynecology diagnostics, vascular technology diagnostics, and diagnostic radiology. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to ultrasound procedures. Demonstrated ability to operate various ultrasound equipment with precision and confidence. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and PACS for efficient documentation and image management. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams. Certification or licensure as an Ultrasound Technician or Sonographer from an accredited program is preferred; relevant certifications include RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer). Ability to maintain aseptic technique during invasive procedures and demonstrate attention to detail in image quality assessment. Knowledge of women's health diagnostics such as obstetric ultrasound (prenatal ultrasound), gynecological ultrasound, breast ultrasound, and abdominal ultrasound is highly desirable.
