As an Ultrasound Technologist , you will play a critical role in performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations while ensuring patients feel informed, comfortable, and cared for throughout their experience. A typical day for an Ultrasound Technologist may include: Assist radiologist with special examinations Calculate mathematical functions. Demonstrate competency with the use of RIS and PACS Employ professional judgment and discretion while performing all imaging procedures. Enter patient information, select appropriate transducer, set initial power input and instrument gain for patient size and age, and select menu items as required for type of equipment and provide consistent and optimal image quality. Interact with physicians regarding data Knowledge of physiology, disease, pathology and pathophysiology. Maintain clean examination rooms and work environment in all areas. Maintain stock levels in all procedure rooms Obtain clinical history. Recognize ultrasonic representation of normal and abnormal structures, organs, system relationships and relational anatomy. Report all equipment problems to the supervisor and enter an LT work order as appropriate Use RadCode for interventional billing related to the section (modality) specific procedures. Utilize principles of radiation protection for self and patients for every examination Utilize proper positioning and technical factors to assure diagnostic quality images for interpretation. Utilizes all components of the RIS Mammography Module for entering new and follow-up patient information.
