JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Ultrasound Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will act as liaison between Radiologists, Supervision, staff and patients along with participating in a lead role as an Ultrasound Technologist in a clinical setting. Your expertise will guide and mentor imaging staff, coordinate complex ultrasound examinations, and collaborate closely with physicians to facilitate accurate diagnoses.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the duties listed as an Ultrasound Technologist, the Lead Ultrasound Technologist will perform the following: Keeps current on new trends and procedures in ultrasound imaging. Direct responsibility to collect data for all ACR accreditations at all modality locations Create and coordinate all office staff/technologists' schedules in ADP ensuring adequate coverage in response to patient volumes Manage all timekeeping for the department staff through ADP Receive and track call ins and respond appropriately as needed which may include coordinating staff schedules, blocking patient schedules, rescheduling patients via phone, or any other task that may be required to manage the daily patient schedule in accordance with daily staffing. This may require remote work as needed. Prepare for and lead weekly huddles with the department; generating meeting minutes and sharing with team Opening and blocking patient templates as needed Maintenance of Protocol books at all locations Address protocol changes/equipment adjustments with vendors and schedule service accordingly. Communicate with coworkers, adjustments in workflows and protocols as directed by Radiologist and/or Management. Assist management/Supervisor with scheduling of PMs, ACR Physicist testing, service as needed for equipment. Maintains a clean, stocked and safe work environment at all locations. Evaluates problems with equipment and notifies service as necessary. Troubleshoot workflow issues and keep management knowledgeable of issues that need addressing. Maintains QA records mandated by NYS. Order medical supplies for all Ultrasound Dept areas with priority to keep at a minimal level. Reports any issues/misadministration within the modality to Management. Assist management in regards to creating better streamlining of workflows and staff workflows with the goal to increase patient satisfaction. Assist with Radiologist reading workflows Must be able to work at all sites when needed. Complies with BMG Corporate Compliance Policy and HIPAA regulations. Will participate in worksite safety training programs. Will comply with all Group policies and procedures including mandatory annual in-services. Attends Supervisors meetings Other tasks as assigned/required.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Completion of 2-year school of Radiological Technology. Current NYS Registration. Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS). 5 years' experience desirable. Proficient knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
Work location is primarily 295 Essjay Road in Williamsville but may need to travel to any BMG location including downtown, Orchard Park, or Lockport. Work schedule is Monday-Friday and can either be working (5) 8-hour shifts or (4) 10-hour shifts.
Pay:
$32.73 - $51.14 per hour
