• Ultrasound (SJCH) Pay Rate Type Hourly Pay Grade Health-28 Scheduled Weekly Hours 24 Work Shift Job Description Responsibilities Operates ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images of organs, tissues, and anatomical structures.

Performs comprehensive sonographic examinations to identify, evaluate, and document anatomical, physiological, and pathological findings. Reviews physician orders and patient instructions to ensure appropriate preparation for ultrasound examinations. Performs ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician requirements. Evaluates images for quality, completeness, and diagnostic value prior to submitting for physician interpretation. Documents and records examination findings and test results accurately in the appropriate systems. Performs obstetric ultrasound examinations, including fetal imaging for diagnosis and detection of congenital anomalies. Performs specialized ultrasound imaging for patients with high-risk obstetric indications. Communicates relevant patient condition and examination findings to the OB/GYN nursing team before and after procedures, as appropriate. Monitors patient condition and promotes patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout examinations. Inspects, cleans, and maintains ultrasound equipment to ensure proper operation and image quality. Identifies equipment or supply needs and orders supplies as necessary to support department operations. Follows established safety, infection prevention, and departmental policies and procedures.

Additional Job Description Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:

Education :

Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Experience :

At least 1 year of Ultrasound/Sonography experience preferred.

Required Registration/Certification:

• Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (S) or Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) required.
