Job Description

Mercy Community Healthcare has an opening for an OB Ultrasound Technician in Lewisburg , TN . We are looking for enthusiastic people with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those we serve in our community. The ultrasound technician will perform pre-natal, obstetric, and gynecologic ultrasound examinations. The technician will obtain high-quality diagnostic images, accurately document measurements and findings, and work closely with physicians to support the care of pregnant patients.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established protocols. Perform first-trimester, second-trimester, and third-trimester obstetric ultrasound examinations. Obtain fetal, maternal, and pelvic images and measurements for physician interpretation. Perform fetal biometry, including measurement such as BPD, HC, AC, and FL as appropriate. Assess fetal presentation, placental location, amniotic fluid, fetal heart rate, and other required parameters. Perform transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound examinations when indicated and within scope of practice. Assist with specialized examinations such as anatomy scans, growth assessments, cervical length, and biophysical profiles as applicable. Perform gynecologic imaging, including evaluation of the uterus, endometrium, ovaries, adnexa and pelvis. Explain procedures clearly to patients and provide compassionate support throughout the examination. Recognize and appropriately document abnormal or concerning findings and promptly communicate them according to established protocols. Accurately document examinations and patient information in the EMR and imaging systems. Maintain ultrasound equipment and report technical problems promptly. Follow infection-control, safety, HIPAA, and department policies. Work collaboratively with members of the OB/GYN care team.
Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program. Minimum 1 year of experience preferred. ARDMS certification;
RDMS/OB-GYN
preferred. Current BLS certification. Clinical experience in obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound preferred. Strong knowledge of fetal and maternal anatomy, ultrasound physics, and OB/GYN imaging protocols. Excellent communication, organization, and patient-care skills.
