Job Summary:

The Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer under the supervision of a qualified physician for diagnosis and treatment, performs a wide-range of high-risk perinatal diagnostic sonographic procedures using high-frequency sound waves to assess fetal development, maternal and fetal anatomy, and vascular structures. The role requires specialized skills in maternal-fetal imaging and supports the evaluation, diagnosis, and care of complex pregnancies within the ambulatory setting.

Job Responsibilities:

Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement to evaluate quality, completeness, timeliness, according to protocol. Participates in CME opportunities. Seeks out opportunities for self-growth by participating in in-service programs and other educational activities. Attends department meetings. Operates ultrasound machines and related equipment with proficiency and care. Monitors equipment reliability and safety. Reports issues and/or repairs or service due. Restock sonography rooms with required supplies for sonography performance. Performs routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of imaging equipment as required. Reports any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly. Collaborates with maternal-fetal medicine physicians, sonographers, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and contribute to case evaluations. Participates in clinical case discussions, image reviews, and quality assurance initiatives. Actively participates in quality initiatives, including patient satisfaction, patient care, and workflow.

Requirements:

1+ year of OBGYB experience High School Diploma, GED. Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. ARDMS certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN). BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through AHA.
