Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Specialty Job Responsibilities:
Correctly identifies patients and their files ensuring a high degree of accuracy, as evidenced by the lack of mislabeled films and files. Tracks patients according to department procedures. Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections. Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services, and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records. Demonstrates patient safety in the department by use of side rails, braking mechanisms, and patient monitoring, as demonstrated by risk management reports. Reports, documents, and corrects any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions, as evidenced by the patient/employee incidence reports to department-specific log books.
Minimum Requirements:
Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Start; Successful completion of the Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program is required within 1 month for team members without the Nuchal Translucency Certification.; Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology Upon Start; Must be a registered diagnostic sonographer in OB to be considered for this job(ARDMS) Licensure
  • None required Experience
  • Two years of hospital or doctor's office-based experience in the performance of specialized maternal-fetal sonography detecting fetal anomalies Education
  • Degree from Accredited Sonography Training Program
