Competitive compensation Tuition reimbursement Pension plan & 403B Referral bonus opportunities Abundant opportunities for CMEs Quarterly on-call bonus opportunities Job duties and responsibilities to include: Transthoracic echocardiograms, Transesophageal echocardiograms, Contrast and agitated saline studies, Clinical trials and research, Low dose Dobutamine stress testing for aortic stenosis, Cardiac surgery OR procedures.
Cardiac structural procedures to include:
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) Transcatheter mitral valve repair (MitraClip) Left atrial appendage closure (Watchman) PFO and ASD closure Impella left ventricular support device Left ventricular remodeling (clinical trial)
Experience:
Experienced sonographer with hospital-based experience preferred, but new registered graduates are encouraged to apply Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Registered Cardiac Sonographer - ARDMS/CCI in adult echo, BLS required. The Registered Sonographer Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations utilizing specialized imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images for interpretation by a physician. Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients of all ages. Reviews patient history and physician orders to ensure appropriate examination protocols are performed. Evaluates, positions, and monitors patients during procedures while maintaining patient comfort, privacy, and safety. Operates, maintains, and performs quality assurance checks on ultrasound equipment according to departmental and accreditation standards. Recognizes normal and abnormal anatomical findings and obtains appropriate diagnostic images to support accurate interpretation. Documents procedures and patient information accurately within the electronic medical record and imaging systems. Performs duties associated with patient processing, which may include scheduling, registration, documentation, file management, and computer processing activities. Complies with all Carilion Clinic, departmental, regulatory, and accreditation standards, policies, and procedures. Participates in performance improvement, quality assurance, and patient safety initiatives. Assists with orientation, training, and education of students and new staff as assigned. Maintains professional knowledge and technical competency through continuing education and ongoing professional development.
What We Require:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program required, or completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with documented ultrasound training required.
Experience:
None. Licensure, Certification, and/or
Registration:
Current ARDMS or ARRT Sonography certification in an applicable specialty area required. Specialty areas may include Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast, Vascular, or Neurosonography.
AHA BLS-HCP
certification required.
Other Minimum Qualifications:
Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills required. Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate patient care and maintain confidentiality. Basic computer skills required. Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and function effectively in a fast-paced environment. Compensation Range:
$33.52 - $50.28 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
