Full Job Description Role Overview:
This position involves providing high-quality ultrasound imaging services in accordance with physician orders, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Responsibilities include preparing equipment and rooms, performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, developing films, and evaluating image quality. The role requires exercising professional judgment, maintaining confidentiality, and delivering patient education tailored to age-specific needs.
Key Duties:
Performing diagnostic ultrasound tests and positioning patients appropriately. Developing and evaluating images for technical accuracy. Ensuring proper documentation and verifying physician orders. Providing excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and staff. Maintaining safety standards, performing equipment checks, and adhering to radiation safety protocols. Assisting with procedures, managing patient information accurately, and participating in quality assurance activities. Ensuring compliance with infection control, safety policies, and rotating shifts as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
High School Diploma or GED. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification from ARDMS. Basic Life Support certification. Experience in a hospital setting preferred. Strong customer service, problem-solving, and knowledge of safety and infection control practices. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to shift rotations.
