SONOGRAPHY INTERN

to join our

VASCULAR/ECHO

team! The Sonography Intern is a student trainee with broad-base knowledge of general, cardiac or vascular ultrasound science and procedures. The student may have had limited clinical experience and is evolving their clinical skills. The practitioner operates various types of equipment in a progressive manner of mastery and independence. Clinical experiences occur under the general supervision of a registered sonographer until competencies for their modality are met. The Sonography Intern is a member of the patient care team and is responsible for assisting with providing patient care under the direction of various providers (radiologists, cardiologists, etc.) and registered sonographers.

HOURS:

based on student availability Experience/Qualifications Current enrollment in an approved general, cardiac or vascular sonography program. Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin, and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy). Site specific competencies in protocols, equipment, computer systems and applications.
