Job Description

Essentia Health seeks a patient-centered Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will prepare and position patients, optimize imaging quality, and document findings to support accurate diagnoses. You'll collaborate closely with radiologists and care teams, following safety, infection control, and quality standards. Responsibilities Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams according to provider orders and protocols Prepare and position patients, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and safety Optimize imaging parameters and capture accurate anatomical and pathological images Document findings and maintain accurate records within the electronic medical record Collaborate with radiologists and providers to support timely clinical decisions Maintain ultrasound equipment, reporting malfunctions and following quality control procedures Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and privacy standards Support a compassionate, patient-centered environment aligned with Essentia Health values Required Skills Diagnostic medical sonography Abdominal ultrasound OB/GYN ultrasound Vascular ultrasound basics Image optimization and equipment operation Patient positioning and preparation Exam documentation and reporting in EMRAseptic and infection control techniques Anatomy and physiology knowledge Communication with physicians and care team
