May work on farms, in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, in animal shelters, or in hospitals or clinics that specialize in caring for animals. May inspect livestock used for food and check compliance with food safety regulations, or work in laboratories doing clinical research on animal and human diseases.

Job Description

HIRING VETERINARIAN
for New Spay/Neuter Clinic Limestone County, AL Nonprofit high-quality high-volume (HQHV) spay/neuter clinic is seeking a vet who is excited about making a significant impact in a fast-growing community drowning in homeless cats and dogs. Our goal is to find ways to remove barriers to spay/neuter. Clinic opening date is Sept. 15, 2026.
Requirements include:
Examine animals pre-operatively to determine their ability to withstand surgery. Perform surgical sterilizations. Examine animals post-operatively to ensure appropriate healing. Supervise handling and recording of controlled substances by veterinary technicians. Supervise post-operative recheck. Experience with high-volume spay/neuter is a big plus. Veterinary license with minimum two years experience
Benefits:
Work fulltime on 4-day a week, 10-hour a day schedule; parttime possible. Paid time off for national holidays. Discounted vet care for personal pets. Salary range $105K to $120K commensurate with experience. Partnership for Animals in Athens/Limestone (PAALS)
