As an Emergency Veterinarian at FVEPH, you'll be the caring, steady presence a family needs when their pet needs help most. You'll see everything from everyday emergencies to critical cases and emergency surgery, with a skilled RVT team beside you and the diagnostics to work up cases with confidence. Whether you're an experienced ER doctor or just starting out, you'll keep growing through our mentorship program and CE allowance. And with a 3-shift week, you'll have time to rest and live your life, so you come back to every shift feeling refreshed and ready. What you'll do Triage and assess incoming emergencies, gathering history, vitals, and a full physical exam Work up cases with in-house diagnostics, including IDEXX bloodwork, digital radiographs, and ultrasound Build diagnostic and treatment plans, and stabilize critical patients Walk families through findings and treatment options with clarity and compassion, so they feel heard and confident in their decisions Perform emergency surgeries such as [GDVs, foreign bodies, lacerations, C-sections, etc.] See exotic patients if you choose to. It's entirely up to your interest and comfort level Manage hospitalized patients and keep accurate medical records in ezyVet Send patients home with clear discharge instructions, and coordinate transfers back to primary care and specialty hospitals Collaborate with and mentor our technician team Equipped for great emergency medicine Dedicated surgical suite IDEXX in-house laboratory Digital radiography In-house ultrasound Doppler ezyVet cloud-based practice management software What we're looking for DVM from an AVMA-accredited school Active California veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain one Experienced ER doctors and new graduates are both welcome to apply.
