Job Description
Companion Animal Hospital & Boarding Center in Asheville, NC seeks a Veterinarian to provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care for companion animals. You'll perform exams, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and preventative care while educating clients on long-term wellness. Collaborate with a supportive, team-oriented staff in a full-service hospital offering boarding and grooming. Ideal candidates are compassionate, detail-oriented clinicians who value client communication, teamwork, and continuous learning in a community-focused environment committed to personalized pet care and strong client relationships. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical exams and develop diagnostic and treatment plans for dogs and cats Conduct soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures with safe anesthesia and pain management Interpret laboratory, radiographic, and other diagnostic test results to guide care Provide preventive care, including vaccinations, wellness exams, and parasite control Educate clients on pet health, treatment options, and long-term wellness plans Maintain accurate, timely medical records in the practice's EMR system Collaborate closely with technicians and support staff to ensure efficient, high-quality care Participate in occasional emergency or urgent care cases as needed Contribute to a positive, team-oriented, and learning-focused hospital culture Support boarding and grooming services through medical oversight when required Required Skills Small animal medicine Soft tissue surgery Veterinary dentistry Diagnostic imaging (X-ray, ultrasound) Laboratory diagnostics and interpretation Anesthesia and pain management Electronic medical records (EMR) Client communication and education Preventive care and wellness planning Emergency and critical care stabilization
